OrigiNatives is a digital storytelling project that empowers Native American and Indigenous peoples to tell our stories, our way. Through the use of digital media, Native peoples create original digital stories about their cultures and histories. These digital stories give voice to experiences that are marginalized in and by “mainstream” society, and challenge dominant narratives of what it means to be Native. Since 2018, I’ve facilitated OrigiNatives workshops through community partnerships in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Duluth, MN. You can view the digital stories of community members who consented to share their stories with the public by clicking on the pictures in the gallery below.
